Registration and activation

How do I register in Oral-History.Digital and get access to a single interview archive?

You can create your account either on the portal page or in a specific archive. In both cases, click on “Register” in the right-hand section, directly below the login button. Enter your details in the registration form, accept the Oral-History.Digital terms of use, and submit the form. You will then receive an email with a confirmation link that you must click on.

To access an archive, you must request activation there. If you registered directly in an archive, the confirmation link will take you directly to the activation form for that archive. If not, go to the archive page and click on “Request activation for this archive” on the right-hand side below the “Log out” button. Fill out the form and accept the terms of use for this archive. You will then be activated after verification by the respective archive team.

Why can't I see any interviews in an archive?

This may be because you have registered on the Oral-History.Digital platform but have not yet been activated for the respective archive.

It may also be that the archive has not published any interviews for various reasons. If you have any questions about this, please contact the person responsible, who you can find in the catalog view of the portal.

How can I check which archives I have already been approved for?

You can do this by selecting “Account” on the right-hand side of the archive view. Here you will see a list of the archives for which you have been approved or have requested approval.

How can I change my account details?

This can also be done via the “Account” option on the right-hand side of the archive view. Here you will see the details (first name, last name, email) that you entered when creating your account. By clicking on the “pencil” icon, you can change these details in a pop-up window.
